  1. Cowhide: Cowhide leather shoes are among the highest-quality options with a relatively high price point. Cowhide features a fine grain, dense and tiny pores, a thin epidermis, fine fibers, and a tightly woven, firm structure.

  2. Pigskin: Pigskin leather boasts excellent breathability and wear resistance, yet has a rough, unsmooth surface with distinct pores arranged in a triangular pattern. It has poor elasticity and water resistance, and is prone to swelling and deformation when absorbing water. Leather shoes made of pigskin are generally mid and low-grade products.

  3. Goatskin: Goatskin is mostly adopted for the upper of goatskin leather shoes. With a thin epidermis and high extensibility, tanned goatskin leather is soft and comfortable with a smooth, fine grain. It also takes bright colors easily, making it an ideal material for crafting women's and children's leather shoes.

  4. Artificial Leather: Artificial leather shoes are lightweight, aesthetically pleasing and affordable. However, they have obvious drawbacks: poor breathability, low durability, and a tendency to harden in low temperatures.

  5. Synthetic Leather: Synthetic leather shoes feature high tensile strength, along with a certain degree of cold resistance and wear resistance, as well as strong water resistance. They have poor breathability, but are still better than artificial leather shoes in this aspect.

  6. PU Leather: PU leather shoes are characterized by a high imitation of genuine leather, uniform quality and mildew resistance, and have a certain resistance to water and solvents. Nevertheless, their moisture absorption, moisture wicking and breathability are inferior to natural leather.

  7. Ultrafine Fiber Leather: Ultrafine fiber leather is soft, smooth and delicate to the touch, and relatively breathable, which effectively prevents foot odor. It is far superior to ordinary artificial leather. Ultrafine fiber leather shoes remedy certain drawbacks of genuine leather, such as the inherent odor of animal hide and the difficulty in daily maintenance.
